Anointed Touch Visitation Ministries

ATVM is one of the major components of local Missionary endeavors performed by AWIM. It is comprised of individuals from all walks of life, including ministers, teachers, deacons, trustees, registered nurses, hospital chaplains, and other medical professionals, business executives, computer technicians, and other “lay” members of the congregation who are concerned about the health and physical, as well as spiritual well being of the membership. These individuals have committed their lives and their time to this work as a result of heeding the call of the Holy Spirit, who not only called and anointed them, but also equipped them with the compassion and other tools necessary to get the job done.

WHAT IS DONE, AND HOW?? Whenever an individual is absent from church without notification to anyone regarding the reason for their absence, staff from the church immediately seeks out the nature, as well as the duration of that member's absence from attendance. Whether the absence is due to the individual being hospitalized or homebound, one or more of the ATVM members will expeditiously make contact with that individual to insure that he/she is ministered to and that he/she knows that the church body is not only praying for them, but is greatly interested in their speedy recovery and return to active service. Due diligence is put forth to insure that loving kindness and tender mercy is shown to the absented individual(s). In so doing, we are fulfilling the Scripture in James 5:14-15 "Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him."

Some of the services to be ministered for said individuals, include:

1. Telephone prayer upon receipt of the first notification of a need;

2. Hospital or home visitation, including anointing with oil and the laying on of hands, if applicable. Ministering in this manner is done to insure that the Lord is invited into the needy individual’s circumstances to insure speedy recovery via the healing virtue of the Lord Jesus Christ.

3. Continued follow-up contact is made until the individual’s healing manifests, and/or until he/she is able to return to active attendance in the services.

4. Hospital visitation to non-members of AWIM is also conducted during hospital visits.
